Chandigarh, May 7, 2014: Giving awards to all those who showed exemplary courage, passion and hard work and resolved to emerge winners in their respective fields, by the selection committee of Danik Bhaskar Corp Ltd, the Punjab Governor and Administrator UT Chandigarh, Shivraj V Patil, said that such initiatives goes long way in motivating and inspiring younger generation to follow the foot prints of awardees.
Speaking on the occasion Patil said that nothing was powerful then knowledge and print and electronic media was doing the right job in spreading knowledge to educate the masses. He said media should be cautioned against misuse of their growing power. He said the media person should exercise both their discretion and judgment to provide information and feedback to the public so that the basic faith in democracy remained intact.
Appreciating the role of Dainik Bhaskar, the Governor said that Newspapers in general known as fourth estate of democracy are expected to take care of right governance, but the Dainik Bhaskar has taken a step beyond this and initiated a unique programme to identifying the unnoticed and unrecognized people who excelled in their respective fields. He said let us hope that the Dainik Bhaskar would protect, the truth, justice, unity, bliss and beauty, all the living and non-living things, and ideas which give meaning to life and existence to create a healthy society.

Speaking on the occasion, Deepak Dhiman, State Editor, Dainik Bhaskar said that our corporation organized this Chandigarh Pride Awards ceremony today mark the celebrations of 14th foundation Day of Dainik Bhaskar. He also gave details as how Dainik Bhaskar Group attained new heights in the field of journalism.
