Chandigarh, May 7, 2013: Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) Chandigarh Chapter, is all set to organise “Digital Impact”, a seminar on Social Media Strategies, designed to help organisations deploy social media as a part of their communication plan. The half-day seminar will be held on May 11, at PHD House, Sector 31, Chandigarh, starting at 10:30 am.

Some of the leading social media strategists and experts would share their insight, case studies and best practices for organisational success, along with live demos and interactive session. Registration Fee for PRCI members is Rs 1000 while non-members can attend the seminar by registering themselves by paying Rs 1500. Students can also be a part of the seminar with a nominal fee or Rs 500.

Renuka Salwan, Chairperson, PRCI, Chandigarh Chapter, said, “Social media chatter is instantaneous, non-stop, and ubiquitous. Ironically, social media is no longer about mere ‘socialising’. The concept of social networking has now moved to a complete different level wherein consumers, brands and marketers – all have a distinct role to play. In an era of social activeness, a single wrong decision can lead to social death.”

Narvijay Yadav, Joint Secretary, PRCI, Chandigarh Chapter, said, “The session will be attended by those engaged in branding, marketing, customer relations, community engagement, public relations, media sales, business development, etc. On this occasion, some of the social bloggers would also share their success story and how they achieved their goals using varied social media tools.”

PRCI national president N D Rajpal, J K Menon of S G Interactives, Singapore and Tata Steel corporate communications head Yogesh Joshi will be present at the seminar. For registration interested people may call on 0172- 5016581, 5000078.

PRCI is a not-for-profit organisation of professionals in the fields of public relations, communication and other allied services, engaged in promoting professionalism and capacity building.  PRCI has 22 chapters across the country, and the Chandigarh Chapter was established in 2010. PRCI has conducted seven global PR conferences and five international meets, including the Global Conclave in Chandigarh.
